Dr Geeta Krishnan has over 20 years of experience in child and adolescent psychiatry and has been a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist since 2008. She has held an interest in ADHD since her university years when she did her MSc Dissertation on the condition.
Dr Krishnan was the Directorate Lead for ADHD for CAMHS. As part of her role she supported practitioners in the ADHD service in Rochdale.
As part of her role as lead CAMHS Psychiatrist in Rochdale, Dr Krishnan treated children and adolescents with a variety of conditions such as eating disorders, mood disorders and psychosis. She had overall clinical responsibility for the nurse-led ADHD clinic and had about 200 children under her care.
She was also part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder panel that sat weekly to offer multidisciplinary input to all assessments of social communication difficulties in the Department.
In her present role as Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, she works with the Autism Assessment Team and Learning Disabilities CAMHS Team in supporting doctors and prescribing and monitoring medication for her patients.
